BR Foothills Celebration
The Foothills Celebration at Black Rock is this weekend with activities on Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
A limited number of booths are still available. There is no charge for a booth unless electricity is needed. Organizations and vendors can reserve a booth for the festival by contacting the Black Rock City Hall at 878-6792.
The festival committee is encouraging groups to sponsor booths with games and activities for kids. Crafters are also invited to set up and showcase their products.
The schedule of events is as follows:
5-8 p.m., Ham and Bean Supper, Senior Citizens Building.
5:30-6 p.m., Pumpkin Carving Contest, downtown.
6-7 p.m., Halloween Costume Contest, downtown stage.
7 p.m., Gong Show, downtown stage.
7-9 p.m., Local Lawnmower time trials, old ball field.
5-10 a.m., Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, Black Rock School cafeteria.
8 a.m., Show and Shine Antique Car Show, downtown.
9 a.m., Black Rock Historical Society, downtown.
10-10:30 a.m., Opening Ceremonies, introduction of Mr. and Mrs. Foothills, downtown stage.
10:30-noon, Gospel Music, downtown stage.
11 a.m., Cake Walk, Senior Citizens Building.
Noon-1 p.m., The Shaws, downtown stage.
1-2 p.m., Beauty Pageant, Black Rock School cafeteria.
1-2 p.m., Dog Costume Contest, downtown.
1-2 p.m., Patrick Sherrill, downtown stage.
2 p.m., Lawnmower Races, old ball park.
2-3 p.m., Studio Dance, downtown stage.
3-4 p.m., Black Rock Kids Singers, downtown stage.
4-5 p.m., Murphy Bluegrass Band, downtown stage.
5-6 p.m., Bottom of the Barrel Boys, downtown stage.
5-8 p.m., Wrestling, old ball park, $4 adults, $2 under 12.
6-7:30 p.m., JR Rogers and the All Star Band, downtown stage.
10 a.m.-noon, Sunday Singing Service, downtown, bring lawn chairs.
