The Hoxie Lady Mustangs swept Ridgefield Christian in senior high volleyball, 25-11, 25-14, 25-7 Thursday at Jonesboro.

Kelsey Lewis had 11 kills and a block. Chasity Becker was 26-of-29 from the line, with six aces, seven kills and 10 assists. Courtney Jones had four kills, four digs and two blocks. Shayla Coats was 11-of-11 from the line, with four aces and had three digs. Erika Manis was 8-of-8 from the line, with four aces and a dig. Brianna Liscomb had two kills and a dig. Kassie Teel had three kills and a dig, and Amanda Whaley had five kills, nine assists and a dig.

Hoxie edged Ridgefield Christian in the junior high match 25-22, 26-24.

Maddison Woodard was 6-of-7 from the service line, with two aces and had two kills. Emily Freer was 6-of-6 from the line, with an ace and had three digs and a kill. Sarah Manis was 7-of-7 from the service line and had eight assists. Courtney Sears was 7-of-8 from the line, with two aces. Alyssa Coggins had two aces and seven kills, and Hali Pratt had two kills.

Brookland

October 14 was Senior Night at Hoxie, when the Lady Mustangs hosted the Brookland Lady Bearcats. Four seniors who had played volleyball since the seventh grade were honored. The honorees were Whitney Bennett, Kelsey Dobbs, Erin Strong and Elizabeth Whaley.

Brookland won the senior high match 25-15, 25-13, 25-14.

Jones had three digs, six kills and five blocks. Erika Manis and Dobbs each had six digs, and Lewis had three kills.

The Hoxie junior high team won the first game against Brookland, 25-23, but dropped the next two 25-16, 25-17.

Sarah Manis was 11-of-11 from the service line, with two digs and 10 assists. Freer had six digs and a kill. Coggins had five digs and nine kills, and Sears had six digs and a kill.

Harrisburg

The senior Lady Mustangs lost at Harrisburg 20-25, 15-25, 17-25 on Oct. 13.

Becker had 10 assists and three kills. Devine Wilson had two kills and six assists. Karina Mashburn had three digs. Jones had six digs and four kills. Coats had nine digs. Erika Manis had three digs, and Lewis had seven kills.

The Hoxie junior high team earned a win over the junior Lady Hornets 25-20, 25-21.

Coggins had three digs and seven kills. Pratt had three digs, three kills and four assists. Freer had two digs, and Sears had four. Sarah Manis had five assists.
