Lady Bobcats beat BayNathan Hibbard
The Walnut Ridge volleyball teams won three of the four matches played against Bay on Sept. 16 at Bay.
Walnut Ridge defeated Bay 25-14, 25-8, 25-12 in the senior high match.
Amber Caldwell served 9-of-11, with an ace and seven assists. Lacey Cobble also served 9-of-11 and had four aces, five kills, five digs and a block. Sam Knight was 15-of-15 from the line, with two aces and seven digs. Chelsey Linebaugh served 9-of-10, with five aces and eight assists. Josie Wagoner was 21-of-21 from the line, with eight aces and five digs. Amanda Emison served 7-of-7, with two aces and five digs, and Carrie Massey had four kills.
The Walnut Ridge senior B team defeated Bay 25-20.
The Walnut Ridge junior high team won an exciting three game match over the junior Lady Yellowjackes 25-23, 24-26, 26-24.
Tayler Ginn was 20-of-21 serving, with 11 aces. Jeri Poole was 10-of-13 from the line, with five aces. Katie Lewis had four kills, and Christin Holsapple had three.
Bay won the seventh grade match 13-12, 18-10, 23-9.
The Walnut Ridge senior high volleyball team competed in the Harrisburg Hornet Classic on Sept. 13, finishing second in the Silver division.
The Lady Bobcats opened pool play by defeating Pocahontas 25-24, 25-18, 22-25, 25-22.
Caldwell went 14-of-16 from the line, with two aces, 10 assists and two digs. Cobble was 13-of-16 serving, with three aces, 12 kills, 13 digs and two blocks. Knight was 14-of-16 serving, with four aces and 20 digs. Massey had nine kills and three blocks. Wagoner went 16-of-17 from the line and had 15 digs. Emison had 15 digs, and Linebaugh had 10 assists.
Next in pool play, the Lady Bobcats lost to host Harrisburg 23-25, 18-25, 24-25, 18-25.
Linebaugh was 13-of-14 from the line, with an ace and 14 assists. Cobble had nine kills and 18 digs, and Knight had 19 digs.
Walnut Ridge opened tournament play with a win over Bay 26-24, 25-14.
Linebaugh was 11-of-11 serving, with four aces, eight assists and four digs. Wagoner was 9-of-11 from the line, with an ace, two kills and three digs, and Emison had six kills and six digs.
Batesville Southside defeated the Lady Bobcats in the Silver division finals 20-25, 27-25, 15-13.
Caldwell served 14-of-16 and had four digs. Emily Holder was 9-of-11 from the line, with three aces and 10 digs. Wagoner had nine digs and three kills, and Cobble had seven kills and 10 digs.
