School election to be TuesdayPatrons of the Hoxie School District will go to the polls Tuesday to decide a school board race. Lonnie Owen Smith of Hoxie and Jeff Moskop of Sedgwick are vying for the position.Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. All the other districts have chosen to hold their elections entirely through early and absentee voting. County Clerk Tina Stowers said districts that have no races for school board and are not seeking a change in millage can elect to save the costs of opening the polls on election day. Early voting will continue through Monday for the Hoxie race, as well as the other school elections, according to Stowers. Individuals can vote through Friday this week and on Monday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the clerk's office in the Lawrence County Courthouse in Walnut Ridge.
