Josh and Keysha Augustine have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 17, 2008, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed eight pounds, two ounces and has been named Trevor Blaine Augustine.
Grandparents are Wayne and Pat Augustine and Dewayne and Susan Griffin, all of Walnut Ridge, and John and Trish Dodd of Bono.
Great-grandparents are Dearl and Billie Jones of Paragould, James and Muriel Taylor of Alicia and Tom and Helen Dodd of Minturn.
Greg and Jodi Coats of Smithville have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 14, 2008. at St. Bernards in Jonesboro. The baby weighed six pounds, nine ounces and has been named Hayden Gregory Coats.
He has a sister, Hannah Coats, who is 11.
Grandparents are Linda Hurst of Hoxie, H.L. Coats of Portia, Tom and Treasa Wigton of Lynn and Mike and Sharon Cain of Cord.
Great-grandmothers are Lynn Poff of Hoxie and Mary Cain of Tomah, Wis.
Jeffrey and Michelle Porter of Hoxie have announced the birth of a daughter on Aug. 19, 2008, at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. The baby weighted four pounds and has been named Jordan Marie Porter.
Grandparents are Vince and Paula Baker and Dewayne Anglin, all of Hoxie, and Brenda Lee of Walnut Ridge.
Shelia Webb of Hoxie has announced the forthcoming marriage of her daughter, Ashley Nicole Milgrim, to Jacob Cordero Arnett, son of Ricky Arnett Sr. of Augusta and Christina McIllwain of Clinton.
The couple will exchange vows on Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. at the New Life Full Gospel Church in Black Rock.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Linda Milgrim of Black Rock.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jimmy and Suzie Harrell of Augusta.
A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.
All friends and family are invited to attend.
Lance and Maureen VanWinkle of Pocahontas announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney VanWinkle, to Dustin Blackshear, son of Kenny and Sarah Wright of Hoxie.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Allan VanWinkle and the late Wava VanWinkle and the late Bernard and Catherine Conway.
She is a graduate of Maynard High School and Black River Technical College in Pocahontas. She is employed at Jonesboro Family Pet Hospital.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Oscar and Betty Gray of Jonesboro, Charles and Elaine Wright of Piggott and Jo Blackshear of Hot Springs and the late Virgil Blackshear.
He is a graduate of Pocahontas High School, BRTC and the Burlington Northern Training Center. He is employed as a foreman with the BNSF Railroad.
The couple will exchange vows on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at the James Ranch in Pocahontas. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.

Joseph Eldon Blackwood, 56, of Poughkeepsie, died Aug. 25, 2008, at his home.
He was born Aug. 27, 1951, near Reverie, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vanas Howard and Geniva Virginia Owens Blackwood; and a brother, Raymond Blackwood.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Blackwood; two sons, Bubba Blackwood, Walnut Ridge, and Donny Blackwood, Glenwood; three brothers, Vanas Howard Blackwood Jr., St. Louis, Henry Blackwood, Trumann, and Harold Blackwood, Tyronza; a sister, Doris Todd, Wynne; and five grandchildren, Dylan Blackwood, Megan Blackwood, Hunter Blackwood, Logan Blackwood and McKenzie Blackwood.
Funeral is today at 6 p.m. at the Pleasant Ridge Community Church with Bro. Jim Pagan officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Dotson, Riley Todd, Harvey Gann, Jackie Pickett, Ira Gann and Tommy Pagan.

Hannah Elizabeth Dement, 1, of Corning, died Aug. 19, 2008, at her home, of Krabbe's disease.
Born Aug. 18, 2007, in Newport, she was the daughter of Joshua and Kristie Rapert Dement.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her grandparents, Richard and Deanna Rapert, Pocahontas, and David and Lisa Dement, Imboden; her great-grandparents, Howard and Patsy Rapert and Karen Smith, all of Pocahontas, John and Donna Utnaug, Imboden, Jere and Margaret Whiteside, Cherokee Village, and Doug Dement, Nashville, Tenn.; and her great-great-grandparents, Geneva Utnaug and Ruth Menard, both of Pocahontas.
Funeral was Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home at Pocahontas with Gerald Fears, Ralph Wallis and John Binkley officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cliff Henary, Brian Dement, Jack Rapert and Ben Rapert.
Donations will be accepted through Hunter's Hope Foundation.
Odessa Johnson, 85, of Walnut Ridge, died Aug. 24, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 17, 1922, in Walnut Ridge, she was the daughter of Everette and Birdie Wooldridge Jones. She had worked as a salesperson for Graham's Department Store and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Annieville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Johnson, on Dec. 6, 1997, whom she married July 4, 1942; a brother, Leland Jones; and a sister, Lucille Poe.
Survivors include a daughter, Lana Burns, Walnut Ridge; a son, Miles Johnson and wife Diane, Franklin, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Eric Burns, Blake Burns and Jake Johnson; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral is today at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bros. Jerry Clements and Dennis Truxler officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Bob Burns, Chris Matthews, Rickey Goff, Ben Foley, Bob Tomlinson and E.W. Poe.

Barbara Jean Stephens, 63, of Rockford, Ill., died Aug. 19, 2008, at Swedish American Hospital, following a short illness.
Born Oct. 22, 1944, in Walnut Ridge, she moved to Rockford in 1964 and was employed by Leading Edge for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Archable and Geneva Frazier.
Survivors include her husband, John Stephens, whom she married on July 29, 1962; three sons, David Stephens, Jerry Stephens and James Stephens, all of Rockford; five sisters, Nancy Mabry and Martha Harris, both of Jonesboro, Peggy Tinsley and Patsy Bowley, both of Hoxie, and Mary Liscomb, Walnut Ridge, three brothers, Archie Frazier and Johnny Frazier, both of Walnut Ridge, and Larry Frazier, Hoxie; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Rockford.
Sons and grandsons served as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the cancer fund of the donor's choice.
