Grandparents' corner

Hunter Andrew Henry, four, and Riley Jason Henry, 20 months, are the sons of Jason and Jennifer Hurst Henry of Walnut Ridge.

Grandparents are Linda Hurst of Hoxie and the late Silas Hurst and Terry and Cathy Henry of Walnut Ridge.

They are the great-grandsons of A.J. and Janelle Henry of Walnut Ridge and Shirley Inman of Greers Ferry.

Conflict is unfortunate

The conflict between the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport and the Walnut Ridge Country Club is making the news in the region once again. As reported in a previous edition of The Times Dispatch, both entities have filed suits regarding the issue of the golf course and one of the airport's runways being too close.

The Country Club has requested an injunction to prevent the Airport Commission from infringing on their lease, while the airport and city of Walnut Ridge have counter filed, requesting the lease be ended and the property be returned to the commission's control.

'Rolling store' remembrances

I am sure that about everyone from the country who is 60 years old or older can remember the "rolling stores."

These were mostly just a pickup truck with an enclosed box over the truck bed. The canned goods were arranged on shelves and perishables were kept in an ice chest.
