2008 LawCo. Fair
schedule announced
The 84th annual Lawrence County Fair and Livestock Show for 2008 will be held August 19-23. Pre-Fair week events are scheduled for the end of this week.
The schedule is as follows:
Thursday
6 p.m. ~ Rehearsal for all pageant contestants, except Cute Baby Boy and Girl.
Friday
6:30 p.m. ~ Cute Baby Boy and Girl, Cute Kiddie Boy and Girl, Tiny Mister, Petite Mister and Little Mister Lawrence County Pageants. Admission: students (6 years ~ high school), $2; adults, $3.
Saturday
6:30 p.m. ~ Tiny Miss, Petite Miss, Little Miss, Young Junior Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Lawrence County pageants. Admission: students (6 years ~ high school), $2; adults, $3.
Tuesday
7 p.m. ~ Horse Halter Class in the Rodeo Arena.
Wednesday, August 20
9 a.m. ~ 5 p.m. ~ Livestock, Poultry and Field entries early check-in.
3:30 ~ 4:30 p.m. ~ Set up Educational Booths.
4:30 ~ 6 p.m. ~ Check in entries in Education Exhibit Building and Educational Booths.
5 p.m. ~ Set up commercial booths.
6 p.m. ~ Carnival opens.
7 p.m. ~ Gospel singing with Ice Cream Social in gymnasium.
Thursday, August 21
8 a.m. ~ noon ~ Check in entries in Educational Exhibit Building.
1 p.m. ~ Judging in Educational Exhibit Building and Educational Booths.
5 p.m. ~ 8 p.m. ~ Educational Exhibit Building open.
6 p.m. ~ Judging of hogs, lambs, goats.
6 p.m. ~ Armband Night, Advance Armband $12 at Citizens Bank, Pulaski Bank and Shelter Insurance.
6 p.m. ~ Open Cattle Show. Entry Fee $10 per entry.
7 p.m. ~ Cruise In.
Friday, August 22
10 a.m. ~ Livestock Judging.
Noon ~ 8 p.m. ~ Educational Exhibit Building open.
6 p.m. ~ Carnival opens.
8 p.m. ~ Rodeo*, Ladies Goat Milking and Greased Pig Catch. Rodeo admission: Students, $5; Adults,
$10. Sponsors: Grand Entry, BC Trucking; Greased Pig Catch, Roby's Upholstery.
Saturday, August 23
9 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. ~ Auto Show registration.
10 a.m. ~ 3 pm. ~ Educational Exhibit Building open.
Noon ~ Auto Show judging.
Noon ~ Livestock check out.
3 p.m. ~ Auto show awards.
3:30 p.m. ~ 4:30 p.m. ~ Educational Exhibit Building check out.
6 p.m. ~ Carnival opens.
8 p.m. ~ Rodeo*, Wild Cow Milking, Calf Scramble. Rodeo admission: Students, $5; Adults, $10.
