Grandparents' Corner

Conley, five, and Colter, 10 months, are the children of Jason and Gretchen Hunt of Paragould.

They are the grandchildren of Larry and Vivian Heyl and Paul and Peggy Hunt and the great-grandchildren of Norma Asbury, all of Brookland.

Reminder of good things

My sister, Beth, and her family who live in Brooklyn, N.Y., always give us renewed appreciation for the attributes of our area. We enjoyed a couple of trips to Lake Charles State Park during their visit. We planned to take the kayaking tour that is regularly offered at the park, but due to rain, we took a barge tour of the 645-acre lake that was enjoyable, even in the rain. The kayaking tour and a trip to the river will have to wait for future visits.

We also saw an excellent performance of "Nunsense" at the Imperial Dinner Theatre in Pocahontas. The musical comedy opened at the theater last week, and the theater will have Friday and Saturday night performances and Sunday matinees of the production through July. Many readers will remember "Nunsense" when it was performed here several years ago at Carrie Mae Snapp's Front Street Theatre.
