The 32nd annual Junie Dowell Golf Tournament was held Saturday and Sunday at the Walnut Ridge Country Club golf course. Thirty-seven teams participated in the two-person scramble and played 18 holes each day.
In the championship flight, Josh and Jimbo Everhart of Trumann won first place with a score of 130 following a sudden death playoff; Cade Liebhaber of Pocahontas, and David Steimel of Little Rock, took second place with a 131; John-Scott Kelley of Walnut Ridge and Patrick Kelley of Greenwood took third place with a score of 134; and Darrell and Frank Kelley of Walnut Ridge placed fourth with a score of 137.
In the A flight, Terry and Matt Ryan of Walnut Ridge won first place with a score of 137, while Mike Kelley of Walnut Ridge and Rick Kelley of Greenwood placed second with a 139. Jeremy Winters of Tampa, Fla., and Larry Mosier of Trumann won third place with a score of 142 after a card-off with fourth place finishers Josh Butler and Blaine Tedder of Paragould, who also shot a 142.
In the B flight, Jeff Rider and Jeff Hollister of Walnut Ridge took first place with a score of 143. Ranny Oliver and Steve Oliver of Lynn won second place with a score of 146, following a card-off with Paul Burnside of Newport and Cameron Woods, who took third place with a 146. Bill Davis of Walnut Ridge and Bob Davis of Blytheville place fourth with a 149.
The C flight, winners were Melton Van Hoozer of Hoxie and Jay Waltermire of Walnut Ridge with a score of 150, and Chris Kopp of Hoxie and Blake Prater of Pocahontas took second place with a 155. Spencer Ponder and Travis Lawrence of Walnut Ridge, with a score of 156, won third place following a card-off with Scott Holland of Walnut Ridge and Lance Shackelford of Jonesboro, who took fourth place with a 156.
