abound in area

Several businesses have opened or relocated recently in the Hoxie and Walnut Ridge area. The businesses offer everything from food to beauty services, furniture to insurance and small gifts to a new dirt bike.

The Memorial Day weekend was a relatively quiet one according to Steve Jones, coordinator for the Lawrence County Office of Emergency Management.

On April 16, Shirley Brannon of Walnut Ridge was having a normal day at home babysitting her three-year-old grandson, Cillian Tillman.

250 attend Hoxie alumni reunion

Approximately 250 graduates, classmates, teachers and staff members of Hoxie High School and guests from 13 states enjoyed the 2008 alumni banquet and reunion held Saturday evening at the Hoxie Service Center.

Clover Bend Reunion held

Those attending the annual Clover Bend Reunion celebrated 25 years of hard work and dedication to restoring the town to the way it was in the beginning.
