Hoxie tracksters
advance to state

The Hoxie High School senior high boys and girls track teams competed in the district track meet May 8 at Pocahontas.

The Hoxie senior boys were runners-up at the district meet. Seven Mustangs finished first or second in their events to qualify for the 3A State track meet held Tuesday at Prescott.

Meadors is scholar athlete

The Arkansas Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Inc., recently honored Tyler Meadors of Walnut Ridge as an outstanding scholar athlete at a ceremonial banquet held at Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock.

Morgan invited to
Meet of Champions

Sloan-Hendrix's Austin Morgan placed first in the 1,600-meter run at the Class 2A State Track Meet held Thursday at Mineral Springs. Morgan won the event with a time of 4:51.47. The Greyhound junior also recorded a second-place finish in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:05.76.
