The show concluded two days of events sponsored by the Walnut Ridge Army Flying School Museum. TD Photo ~ Gloria Wilkerson TD Photo ~ Gloria Wilkerson The Walnut Ridge Army Flying School Museum's two-day Arkansas Heritage Event concluded Saturday afternoon with a mini air show at Walnut Ridge Regional Airport"s Swindle Field. The museum was open to visitors who enjoyed the exhibits and had an opportunity to shop in the museum's gift shop. Both the museum and gift shop were open Friday and Saturday. A history workshop was held on Friday afternoon, and a youth program with elected officials and party leaders was held that evening. Beverly Wright and daughter, Bethany, entertained the group. continued... Two vying for county clerk and district judge positions Incumbent County Clerk Tina Stowers and former Deputy County Clerk Ashley Forrester will face off in the May 20 Democratic Primary for the office of county clerk. Stowers, now serving in her second term in the office, told The TD in her formal announcement, "I have enjoyed working for and serving the people of Lawrence County for the past three years and look forward to many more years. continued... Search dogs excel at Working Dog Seminar The Lawrence County Search and Recovery Team recently attended the second annual Search and Rescue K9 Working Dog Seminar at the Camp Robinson Wildlife Demonstration Area in Mayflower. Lawrence County's team attended last year and did really well, but this year they excelled in all phases of the event against other advanced teams from all over the U.S. continued... History of building being explored Whether it was the National Guard Armory, the American Legion Hut, USO, Teen Town, a gym, a community center, a ballroom or a fire station, the building that stood at 218 East Main Street was more than just brick and mortar. continued...
