Zebras qualify for regionals

The Weiner Cardinals eliminated host Black Rock from the 1A-3 South District Baseball Tournament with a 14-2 win over the Zebras in semifinals on Monday.
Weiner put the game away early, with 10 unearned runs in the first inning.
Black Rock will be the host site for the 1A Regional Tournament, which begins Saturday.
Black Rock clinched a berth in the regional tournament with a 14-4 first-round victory over Ridgefield Christian on Saturday.
Chris Richardson earned the win on the mound, recording nine strikeouts in six innings.
At the plate, Richardson had three hits, three RBIs and four stolen bases. Joe Paul Carey drove in four runs on two hits, and Tadd Fore had three hits for the Zebras.
Black Rock made a road trip to Weiner on April 21 and was defeated by the Cardinals 16-0.
