S-H girls earn winsDebbie RicheyStaff Writer The Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds swept Maynard in a softball doubleheader on April 14 at Imboden. The Lady Hounds won the first game 14-2, as Christy Caldwell earned the win on the mound. Danyail Dail and Chelsea Broadway, had three hits each. Amanda Holland and Caldwell had two hits each. Chasity Collins, Autumn Wilson, Samantha Perrin and Kristin Belcher each closed with a hit. The Lady Greyhounds defeated the Lady Tigers 13-12 in the late game. With the game tied 12-12 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Sloan-Hendrix's Holland raced home on a passed ball to give the Lady Hounds the lead. Michala Stacey started on the mound and picked up the win. Caldwell pitched the last inning. Dail, Wilson and Holland had three hits each. Caldwell, Broadway and Kristin Belcher had two hits each, and Stacey had one hit.
