Lady Mustangs split

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs softball team earned their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Marmaduke in the first game of a doubleheader on April 15.
The Lady Mustangs scored a run in the first inning and added a run in the third. Marmaduke scored their run in the bottom of the third inning.
Kelsey Dobbs earned the win, allowing three hits and striking out five.
Jessica Barber, Erin Strong and Devine Wilson each had a hit.
Marmaduke won the second game 6-4.
Hoxie held a 4-1 lead until the fourth inning, when the Lady Greyhounds tallied five runs to take the lead.
Dobbs allowed nine hits, while recording four strikeouts and four walks.
Shalicia Wilson had two hits and three RBIs.
The Lady Mustangs fell to Brookland 8-4 in 3A-3 conference play on April 16.
