Spring cleanups in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie are winding down, while Black Rock's cleanup is set for this weekend. Walnut Ridge's cleanup will conclude Saturday. The street department has been picking up items curbside, and dumpsters are available at the city shop, located at 330 Southwest Fourth Street, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., through Friday, and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Jim Poindexter, superintendent of the Walnut Ridge Street Department, said the cleanup is going well. The response has been very good, and the department still has quite a bit of stuff to pick up that has been set by the road.
Hoxie is hoping to complete its cleanup on Friday. Crews are working in the Northeast section of town now, which is the final section to be served.
