County tourney slated The 2008 Lawrence County high school baseball and softball tournaments are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Hoxie. Softball tournament The softball tournament will use a double-elimination format. Game 1, Friday at 4 p.m., Hoxie vs. Sloan-Hendrix. Game 2, Friday at 5:15 p.m., Hillcrest vs. Black Rock. Game 3, Friday at 6 p.m., Walnut Ridge vs. the winner of game 1. Game 4, Friday at 7:45 p.m., the loser of game 1 vs. the loser of game 2. Game 5, Saturday at noon, the winner of game 4 vs. the loser of game 3. Game 6, Saturday at 1:15 p.m., the winner of game 3 vs. the winner of game 2. Game 7, Saturday at 2:30 p.m., the winner of game 5 vs. the loser of game 6. Game 8, Saturday at 4:15 p.m., championship game. Game 9 (if needed), Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Baseball tournament The baseball tournament will be single elimination. Sloan-Hendrix and Black Rock will play Friday at 5 p.m., with the winner advancing to play Walnut Ridge in a semifinal game at noon on Saturday. Hillcrest and Hoxie will meet in the other semifinal at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The championship game will begin at 5 p.m.
