Lady Cats beat WCC

Vanessa Oliver scored on an RBI single by Ashley Baker to cap a three-run seventh inning, as Walnut Ridge's Lady Bobcats recorded a 7-6 win over White County Central on March 17 at Walnut Ridge.
The Lady Bears took an early lead with two runs in the first inning. WCC added a run in the top of the third inning, but Walnut Ridge answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to close to within 3-2.
The Lady Cats scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-3 lead. The Lady Bears answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-4 lead.
Jordan Rorex started the bottom of the seventh with a single. Staci Spargo doubled, scoring Rorex, to cut the WCC lead to 6-5. Spargo scored the tying run on a single by Oliver, setting the stage for Baker's game-winner.
Rorex batted 2-for-4, scored three runs and had three stolen bases. Jessica Osbahr went 2-for-3, with an RBI, a run scored and had two stolen bases. Spargo hit 3-for-4, with three RBIs and scored a run.
Oliver went 1-for-4, with an RBI and scored a run. Baker hit 2-for-4, with an RBI, scored a run and had a stolen base. Josie Wagoner hit 1-for-2, with an RBI.
The Lady Cats improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in 2A-2 conference play.
