WR rallies to beat Rector Debbie Richey Staff Writer Walnut Ridge defeated Rector 6-4 in high school baseball action at Rector on March 12. Walnut Ridge rallied with two runs in the third inning and three in the fifth. Curtis Jackson (1-1) earned the win, allowing four runs on six hits over six innings. He walked one and struck out one. Mitchell Thompson pitched a hitless seventh to earn a save. Logan Gaither went 3-for-4 at the plate, and Thompson went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs. Quitman Walnut Ridge made the journey to Quitman on March 11 and defeated the Bulldogs 13-1. Brandon Dawson pitched five innings, struck out nine and gave up just one run on one hit. Logan Gaither, William Wilcoxson and Bennett Dudley each had two hits for the Bobcats. Wilcoxson scored four runs, while Gaither and Dudley each scored twice. Valley View The Bobcat fell to Valley View 10-0 on March 10.
