A press release issued by the Arkansas National Guard on Thursday reported that segments of Arkansas' 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team were preparing to move forward to Kuwait.

Hoxie's fire rating lowered
The Hoxie City Council announced the achievement of a lower fire insurance rating for the city at its regular meeting on March 11. Hoxie's Fire Suppression Rating has dropped from a seven to a six through an automatic agreement to work with the Walnut Ridge Fire Department. It is predicted to drop to a five rating within the year.
Leap Day baby turns 100
Gladys Thompson, a resident of Lawrence Hall Nursing Center, celebrated her 100th birthday last month, but being a Leap Day baby, she would be quick to tell you she is actually only 25 years old.
