"This is a great honor for Tyler, his family, our school and our football program," said Larry Treadway, head football coach and athletic director at WRHS. Meadors is the son of James and Dianne Meadors of Walnut Ridge.
Each year the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Inc. selects 45 student athletes from Arkansas and honors them at a banquet. This year's banquet will be held in North Little Rock at the Wyndham Hotel on April 12. The Foundation honors athletes who excel on the field and in the classroom.
"Tyler has been our starting quarterback for almost three years. He was selected as an All-State honorable mention player this year and is a two-time All-Conference player for the Bobcats, while maintaining a 3.46 grade average and obtaining a score of 25 on the ACT.
"This is our second student athlete to be selected for this honor in the last three years," Treadway added. Former Bobcat standout Adam Hufstedler received the award in 2006.
