New officers at work for Chamber

The 2008 slate of officers for the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce were finalized at the board's February meeting.

Those officers, under the direction of Chair Junior Briner, are already at work leading the organization.

In addition to Briner, they include: John Allen, chair-elect; Lorra Whitmire, vice chair; Clay Sloan, past chair; and Bill Wilcoxson, member-at-large to the executive committee.

The local chamber has been a volunteer-run operation since the former director, Ted Moskal, resigned in January of 2007. A 13-member board oversees the Chamber's functions.

Kathy Bradley is the Chamber's only paid employee. She serves as a full-time administrative assistant.

Anyone who is interested in joining the Chamber as an individual or business or those who would like to volunteer their service are encouraged to contact Briner or Bradley.
