No good in goodbyeI am a very emotional person, and therefore not good at saying goodbye. I'll try to make this short and sweet, and as easy on myself as possible. This is my last week here at The TD. On Friday, Clint and I are heading West. I have accepted a job in Buckeye, Arizona, as a children's librarian. We put our house on the market two weeks ago, and have frantically been trying to decide what furniture to take, what to leave and what to sell. Moving is never easy, its always a hassle, but moving halfway across the country is beyond frightening ~ it's terrifying. I have two aunts who live within a couple of hours of Buckeye, but that's just not the same as having all your friends and family as close as we do here. As overwhelmed as I feel, I can't imagine how Clint feels. When I was growing up, my family moved quite a bit. Clint has never faced the task of leaving everything he knows behind.
We are both trying to look at this as an adventure ~ a new chapter in our lives. It doesn't help much. Things would be much easier if we could take everyone we love with us, but that's just not realistic, so we'll buck up and make the best of it.
