Circle of Friends' 'Tips for

The event, with approximately 125 attending, raised an estimated $28,000 for the hospital. The evening featured a wine and cheese reception with a silent auction, a dinner catered by Strawberry's of Holcomb, Mo., several introductions and guest speakers, a live auction and a dance with music provided by Sound Extreme.
"It truly is amazing that you are raising money to save kids' lives," said Heather Cass, liaison from Arkansas Children's Hospital, when addressing attendees. She added that it was obvious that a lot of work went into the fund-raiser.
Patty Allison, chairperson of the event, said she was very pleased with the outcome of the evening. "I was tickled to death," she said. "We had a really good response from our corporate donations."
Stephanie Davis, chairperson of Lawrence County Circle of Friends, said, "It was very successful, and everyone seemed to have a good time."
She extended a special thanks to Ronnie "Frog" Light. "He does a terrific job with the auction." Many businesses and individuals donated items for the silent and live auctions.
She also gave a thank you to State Rep. J.R. and Mayor Michelle Rogers, who donated the use of their building, and to Michelle Brewer, a volunteer.
A highlight of the evening was an appearance by Carson Bayird of Paragould, who is an ambassador for ACH. He was accompanied by his parents, Keith and Amy Bayird, and his brother, Tyson. Amy spoke on behalf of the hospital.
Tips for Tots waiters and their guests each carried out a different theme. Waiters and their table themes were: Greg and Kim Gill, Fright Night; Ron and Keri Ingram, casino; Shane and Beth Davis, Cardinals; Jody and Cammie Sifford, Razorbacks; Adam and Nicole Staples, Michelle Segraves and Leslie Burgin, Mardi Gras; Melanie Volner and Laura Prondzinski, Hair Nation Tour; and John and Deana Householder, luau.
The Fright Night table, headed by Greg and Kim Gill and Chris and Marta Henson, was judged as being the most creative. Their group also raised the most money for the night.
Tosh Manning and his fianc?, Veronica Campbell, were winners of a cruise given away at the event. The couple became engaged over Christmas and plan to take the cruise for their honeymoon following their Aug. 2 wedding.
