Lady Hound seventh graders winDebbie Richey
The Hoxie and Sloan-Hendrix girls squared off in the finals of the seventh grade girls bracket on Saturday at Imboden.
The Lady Mustangs eased to an 8-7 first-quarter lead and continued to hold a one-point halftime lead of 12-11.
Sloan-Hendrix overtook Hoxie in the third quarter, moving out to a 20-18 lead and going on to claim the title with a 29-23 victory.
Amber Wilkins led the Greyhounds with eight points. Shayla Dickson, Madicyn Huddleston and Demi Stephens contributed five points each. Joshlyn Flanery notched four points, and Ashley Ward closed with two.
For Hoxie, Krista Coffell and Maddison Woodard had eight points each. Vanessa Cook notched four points. Amanda Moskop added three points, and Courtney Rice tossed in two.
