Clinton, Huckabee
carry Lawrence Co.

Lawrence County election results mirrored statewide results as Hilary Clinton won the Democratic Primary and Mike Huckabee received the most votes in the Republican Primary, according to unofficial results released by County Clerk Tina Stowers.

Stowers said 2,345 ballots were cast in the Democratic Primary. Results between the front-runners were: Clinton, 2,025, 85 percent; and Barack Obama, 188, 8 percent.

In the Republican Primary, a total of 915 ballots were cast. Results among the top three candidates were: Huckabee 602, 66 percent; John McCain, 166, 18 percent; Mitt Romney, 89, 10 percent.
