Walnut Ridge hosted the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds in 2A-2 conference basketball action on Jan. 22.
Walnut Ridge defeated Sloan-Hendrix 49-39 in the senior high girls game.
Walnut Ridge led 11-7 after one quarter and 24-16 at halftime.
The Lady Bobcats iced the game in the third quarter, outscoring Sloan-Hendrix 15-8, to move out to a 39-22 lead after three quarters.
Chelsea Treadway led Walnut Ridge in scoring with 16 points. Rachel Looney had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Vanessa Oliver and Alivia Hackworth added 10 points each.
Sloan-Hendrix took a 15-10 lead in the first quarter and extended their advantage to 29-16 at the end of the first half.
The junior Greyhounds remained in control in the second half, leading 43-22 after three quarters and coasting to a 52-26 win.
Coy Yasler led the Hounds with 22 points. Stetson Wells and Zach Brown had eight points each. Tyler Gillean added seven points, and Chase Dejournett closed with four points. Steven Ward notched two points, and Chris Taylor chipped in a free throw.
Chris Dickson led the Bobcats with 15 points. Cody Brady contributed four points. Sean Seagraves and Kyle Johnson notched two points each, and Clay Hufstedler added a free throw.
The Walnut Ridge senior high boys defeated Sloan-Hendrix 51-45.
Bennett Dudley led the Bobcats with 18 points, and Derek Medlock added 11. Mitchell Thompson and Robert Rider had six points apiece, and Wesley Davis scored five. John-Scott Kelley had three points, and Curtis Jackson added two.
