S-H teams fall to Tuckerman

The Tuckerman Bulldogs hosted Sloan-Hendrix in 2A-2 conference basketball action on Jan. 15. Tuckerman proved to be the top dogs on this night, winning three games against the visiting Greyhounds.

Senior Girls

The Lady Bulldogs earned a 14-9 first-quarter lead. Sloan-Hendrix made a gallant effort in the second quarter and cut Tuckerman's lead to 29-27 at halftime.

Tuckerman continued to hold a 40-35 lead in the third quarter. The Lady Bulldogs increased their intensity in the final quarter and took a 60-51 win.

Amanda Green led the Hounds with 16 points, eight boards and two assists. Katelyn Morris followed with 15 points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Amy Green contributed eight points, two rebounds and an assist. Hannah Rowsey notched four points, two rebounds and a steal.

Christie Caldwell chipped in three points, two rebounds and two assists. Megan Break had three points, five rebounds and three steals. Latricia Mans recorded two points and six boards. Kara Morris closed with three rebounds, and Kandice Henson had one rebound.

Senior boys

Tuckerman defeated Sloan-Hendrix 64-34 in senior boys action.

Tuckerman held a 16-13 lead after one quarter and expanded their lead to 31-19 at halftime.

Trevor Anderson led the Greyhounds with 12 points.

Junior girls

In the junior high girls game, the match was tied 11-11 at the close of the first quarter. Tuckerman slipped by the junior Lady Greyhounds in the second quarter to take a 17-11 lead to the locker room at halftime.

The junior Lady Bulldogs increased their lead to 25-19 at the close of the third quarter and held on to defeat Sloan-Hendrix 34-28.

Gennifer Simpson led the Lady Hounds with 14 points, two rebounds, an assist and three steals. Haley Slusser contributed 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Morgan Smith notched four points, four boards and two steals. Madicyn Huddleston recorded five rebounds and a steal. Sara Childers closed with two rebounds and a steal, and Shayla Dickson had a steal.
