Hoxie boys smash EPC
for homecoming victory

The East Poinsett County Warriors served as homecoming opponents for the Hoxie Mustangs on Friday evening at Hicks Gymnasium.
The senior Mustangs overwhelmed the Warriors in the first half, taking a 35-23 lead to the locker room at halftime.
Hoxie continued their hot shooting in the second half and coasted to a 76-50 victory.
Ray Volner led Hoxie with 20 points and Beau Sisco had 11.
The Mustangs improved to 15-3 overall and 12-1 in 3A-3 conference play.
In the junior high boys game, Hoxie fell to EPC 39-24.

Piggott
The Hoxie boys made a road trip to Piggott to take on the Mohawks on Jan. 15.

Trent Moreledge sank two free throws in the closing seconds to cap a second-half comeback and lift the Black Rock boys to a 37-35 win over Cave City in the boys final of the Hillcrest Junior High Invitational Basketball Tournament Saturday at Lynn.
