Bobcat teams split
games with Midland

Walnut Ridge hosted the Midland Mustangs in high school basketball action Friday evening.
Senior girls
The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 20-9 first-quarter lead. Walnut Ridge added to their lead in the second period, taking a 34-19 advantageto the locker room.
The Lady Cats continued to control the game in the second half and held a 45-31 lead after three quarters and went on to defeat the Lady Mustangs 59-38.
Rachel Looney led the Lady Cats with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Vanessa Oliver had 12 points, six rebounds and three assists. Alivia Hackworth had 12 points and five rebounds. Jordan Rorex totaled six points, seven steals and five assists. Chelsea Treadway scored four points, and Lacy Cobble added two.
Senior boys
Midland defeated Walnut Ridge 55-49 in senior boys acton.
Tommy Lawrence led Walnut Ridge with 20 points and seven rebounds. Mitchell Thompson had 11 points, and Derek Medlock added seven. Bennett Dudley had six points, and Wesley Davis chipped in five.
Junior boys
Midland defeated the Walnut Ridge junior high boys 44-33.
Clay Hufstedler led the junior Cats with eight points, and Tyler Dickson contributed five points. Kyle Johnson, Cody Brady, Chris Dickson and Zach Carson had four points apiece, and Sean Seagraves had two points.
