BR girls beat Ridgefield Christian

Whitney Martin scored 23 of Black Rock's 46 points, as the Lady Zebras defeated Ridgefield Christian 46-30 Friday evening in Jonesboro.

Martin also had two rebounds, four assists and five steals. Brittany Anderson contributed nine points, seven rebounds, an assist and eight steals. Ashley Stallings notched six points, five boards, an assist and two steals. Bethany Erwin chipped in four points, five rebounds, an assist and two steals.

Jordan Fore closed with two points, four rebounds and a steal. Stephanie Bagwell had two points, two rebounds and an assist. Tiffany Pentecost added two points, a rebound and a steal, and Jessica Rudd had a rebound.

Weiner

Black Rock traveled to Weiner on Jan. 8.

The Lady Zebras fell to the Lady Cardinals 43-32.

For Black Rock, Fore totaled seven points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Anderson had seven points, two rebounds and an assist. Martin contributed four points, three boards and a steal. Bagwell had four points and three rebounds.

Rudd had four points and six rebounds. Pentecost notched three points, a rebound and a steal, Erwin totaled two points and Stalling grabbed five rebounds.

The Weiner junior high girls defeated Black Rock 44-8.

Megan Jones had two points, four rebounds and two steals for the junior Lady Zebras. Sarah Penn had two points, two rebounds and an assist. Shawna Caldwell closed with two points and two rebounds. Sarah Sloan added a free throw and four rebounds. Breanna Hilburn added a free throw, a rebound and a steal. Sara Roby and Christian Ervin each had two rebounds.

Armorel

The senior Lady Zebras defeated the Armorel Lady Tigers 54-43 on Jan. 4 at Armorel.

Martin led the Lady Zebras with 23 points, four rebounds, an assist and three steals. Fore contributed 10 points, four rebounds and two assists. Anderson added 10 points, five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Stallings notched seven points, four rebounds and three assists.

Bagwell totaled four points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. Rudd closed with a free throw and a rebound, and Erwin recorded four rebounds and a steal.

Bradford

The Black Rock senior girls defeated Bradford 48-25 on Jan. 3.

Martin led the Lady Zebras with 13 points, four rebounds an assist and two steals. Stalling followed with 11 points, five rebounds and two assists. Anderson tossed in eight points and had five rebounds, an assist and six steals. Rudd totaled five points, four boards and a steal.

Bagwell notched four points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal. Ervin had four points, a rebound, two assists and a steal. Pentecost chipped in two points and had a rebound and a steal, and Fore recorded an assist and two steals.

Bradford won the junior girls game 31-15.

Ervin led Black Rock with six points and had a rebound. Caldwell notched three points and a steal. Teri Oden had three points and two assists. Roby added a free throw. Megan Jones had a free throw, an assist and a rebound, and Sloan also chipped in with a free throw and a rebound.
