Mustangs run over Brookland

The Hoxie Mustangs hosted Brookland in seniors boys basketball on Jan. 8.

The Mustangs took an early 19-17 first-quarter lead over the Bearcats. It was raining baskets in the second quarter, as Hoxie held a 42-32 halftime lead.

The Bearcats faded in the third quarter, as Hoxie extended their lead to 72-39, bringing the mercy rule into effect. The Mustangs took the win by the score of 80-47.

Cade Crisler had 19 points for the Mustangs, including four three-pointers. Morgan Puckett had 19 points, including three three-pointers in the second quarter. Nate Ragsdell notched 15 points, and Tanner Jarrett closed with 10.
