Cats fall to Cedar Ridge

The Walnut Ridge boys traveled to Newark Friday to take on the Cedar Ridge Timberwolves in high school basketball action.

Senior high
The Cedar Ridge Timberwolves defeated Walnut Ridge's Bobcats 60-30 in senior boys basketball Friday at Newark.
Cedar Ridge was in command of the contest throughout, leading 23-8 after one quarter, 35-16 at halftime and 51-27 after three quarters.
Tommy Lawrence led the Bobcats with 11 points. Derek Medlock had eight points and eight rebounds, and Bennett Dudley had eight points. Robert Rider had two points, and Mitchell Thompson added a free throw.
Walnut Ridge fell to 4-10 overall and 2-5 in 2A-2 conference play.

Junior high
Cedar Ridge won the junior boys game 51-17.
Chris Dickson led the junior Cats with four points, and Matt Wall had three. Kyle Johnson, Tyler Dickson, Zach Carson and Jett Waddell each had two points.
