Break-ins reported in WR

Three Walnut Ridge businesses were broken into some time over the weekend, according to Det. David Burnside of the Walnut Ridge Police Department.

The department received three separate reports on the incidents, which occurred at McHaney Vision Center, Davis Chiropractic and Dr. Robert Gardner's office.

According to Burnside, the first report came in on Sunday morning from Dr. John T. McHaney's office. Officer Chris Ditto responded to the scene and confirmed that someone had broken in, but nothing was found to be missing.

Sunday evening, Officer Daniel Hill investigated a break-in at Dr. Dirk Davis' office. Entry was gained through a window, which had been forced open, on the side of the building. Approximately $300 was missing.

On Monday morning, a third report was received when Gary Flippo of Prescription House Pharmacy noticed a window on the east side of Dr. Gardner's office was broken out. Cash in the amount of $70 was reported as missing from that office.

Burnside said evidence collected at the scenes has been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab. He also said the Pocahontas Police Department is investigating similar break-ins over the weekend including doctor's offices and a preschool.

Anyone who has information pertaining to the incidents is asked to call the WRPD at 886-3568.
