Family, friends say farewell to soldiers

GUARD DEPARTS ~ Ruth Ann Lawson (from left) and son, Jacob, of Walnut Ridge were at Robert Army on Monday to say goodbye to her brother, Terry Green of Jonesboro, who left Jan. 8 with members of the local Arkansas National Guard unit. The unit is part of the 39th Infantry Brigade, which is now in Camp Shelby, Miss., where they will remain for several weeks before their deployment to Iraq.

After a few weeks of final preparations at Camp Shelby, Miss., the 39th Infantry Brigade will leave for deployment in Iraq.
