Lady Hounds beat WCCDebbie Richey
The Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds defeated White County Central 61-30 in 2A-3 conference basketball play on Friday at Imboden.
The Lady Hounds led 24-9 at halftime and held a 41-23 lead after three quarters.
Amanda Green led the Hounds with 16 points, eight rebounds, an assist and two steals. Katelyn Morris contributed 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and four steals. Megan Break added nine points, eight boards, an assist and two steals. Kara Morris contributed seven points, three rebounds and a steal, and Christie Caldwell notched six points.
Amy Green closed with five points and two rebounds. Latricia Mans had five points, three rebounds and an assist. Hannah Rowsey chipped in two points, two rebounds, four assists and five steals. Katie Williams recorded a free throw and a rebound, and Kristen Belcher added five rebounds and had three assists.
The Lady Greyhounds improved to 12-5 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
The Lady Hounds took to the road to face Cedar Ridge on Dec. 11 at Newark.
In senior girls action, Sloan-Hendrix took an 11-8 first-quarter lead, but the Lady Timberwolves edged into a 24-21 halftime lead.
Sloan-Hendrix was not able to hold the Lady Wolves in the third quarter and trailed 35-25 heading into the fourth period. Cedar Ridge held the Lady Hounds to two points in the fourth quarter and pulled away for a 50-27 win.
Green led Sloan-Hendrix with 14 points, four rebounds and an assist. Katelyn Morris added six points, two rebounds and a steal. Amy Green had four points and five boards. Christie Caldwell notched three points, four rebounds and an assist.
Hannah Rowsey pulled down three boards and had an assist and two steals, and Megan Break had two rebounds. Latricia Manns and Katie Williams each had a rebound.
Cedar Ridge and Sloan-Hendrix also faced off in junior high girls action.
The match was tied 5-5 at the close of the first quarter, before the junior Lady Timberwolves took a 15-10 halftime lead.
After being tied 17-17 heading into the final quarter, Cedar Ridge took the 29-22 win.
Haley Slusser led the Lady Hounds with nine points, and Gennifer Simpson added eight. Morgan Smith and Madicyn Huddleston closed with two points each, and Kayla Griffin contributed a free throw.
