Lady Eagles beat Cedar

The Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles hosted Cedar Ridge in 2A-3 conference basketball action on Friday at Lynn.
Breanna Doyle scored 34 points, including 18 in two overtime periods to lead the Lady Eagles to a 68-57 win.
Hillcrest took a 13-11 first-quarter lead and held a 27-25 halftime lead.
Hillcrest held onto a 33-32 lead heading into the final quarter, but Cedar Ridge fought back to tie the game 46-46 at the end of regulation play.
The game remained close and was tied 53-53 at the end of the overtime, forcing a second extra period.
The game turned in Hillcrest's favor in the second overtime, as Doyle converted several key baskets.
In addition to Doyle, Jessica Broadway scored 12 points, and Amber Glenn had nine points and eight rebounds. Lauren Pickle and Natalie Johnson had four points each, and Whitney Jones chipped in three points. Terra Polston and Tamara Evans finished with two points each.
The Midland Lady Mustangs defeated Hillcrest 60-54 on Dec. 11 at Pleasant Plains.
Midland jumped out to an 18-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Lady Eagles came back to tie the game 28-28 at halftime.
Despite Hillcrest's efforts, Midland led 41-38 heading into the final quarter and held off the Lady Eagles to take the win.
Glenn led Hillcrest with 14 points. Broadway followed with 13 points, and Jones added 11. Johnson contributed nine points, and Polston added three. Doyle and Pickle each recorded two points.
