Shepherd Care gifts
matched in December
People giving monetary donations to Shepherd Care during the month of December will have a chance to have that donation matched. The Kiwanis Club of Walnut Ridge has agreed to donate up to $1,000 to Shepherd Care to match any gifts made to the clothing ministry this month.
December contributions as of Tuesday were as follows:
- Imboden Extension Homemakers Club, $100;
- Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, $25;
- First United Methodist Church, $61;
- Rev. Everett and Peggy Isom, $10; and
- First Free Will Baptist Church, $215.
Shepherd Care is a free clothing resource for qualified clients from Lawrence County and was established by the Lawrence County Ministerial Alliance. Shepherd Care is located at 710 Highway 67B North, Walnut Ridge. An all-volunteer group operates the store on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The ministry relies on monetary donations for operating expenses, such as rent and utilities
