WR to bid
on ladder truck

At a special council meeting on Tuesday, aldermen voted to bid up to $60,000 on a 1980 ladder truck for the city's fire department.

Hoxie to open bids
for attorney position

The Hoxie City Council voted to open the position of city attorney for bids for the 2008 calendar year. Current City Attorney Bobby Gibson informed the council that he is still interested in the position, and he plans to submit a bid.

WR employees to receive raise

The Walnut Ridge City Council approved a budget for 2008 and voted to give city employees a raise at their Dec. 11 meeting in the new Walnut Ridge Fire Station.

Shepherd Care gifts
matched in December

People giving monetary donations to Shepherd Care during the month of December will have a chance to have that donation matched. The Kiwanis Club of Walnut Ridge has agreed to donate up to $1,000 to Shepherd Care to match any gifts made to the clothing ministry this month.
