Jarrett signs with Lady Eagles softball

Lawrence County native Jessica Jarrett is going to play softball for Williams Baptist College. Jarrett, who is a freshman this year at WBC, signed her commitment with the Lady Eagles on Dec. 5. She is from Smithville.

The Hillcrest High School graduate was an All-Conference softball player all four years of her high school career, and she was named All-Region her junior year. During her senior year, Jarrett was honored for having the highest batting average, most stolen bases and most runs scored at HHS.

She also participated in basketball and student council for four years, and she was involved with Beta Club for three years.

Jarrett is the daughter of Stan Jarrett of Jonesboro and Aubrey and Susan O'Connor of Smithville. Taking part in her signing at WBC were Jarrett's parents and Lady Eagles softball coach Eric Newell.

The Lady Eagles compete in the American Midwest Conference of the NAIA.
