WR girls beat TuckermanDebbie Richey
The gym was smoking when the Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats visited the Lady Bulldogs of Tuckerman on Dec. 4.
The game was tied 15-15 at the close of the first quarter.
The teams continued to exchange baskets in the second period, and the Lady Cats held a 25-23 halftime lead.
Walnut Ridge maintained control in the third quarter, taking a 33-31 lead into the final quarter. The Lady Cats fought off the Lady Bulldogs 45-43, as Tuckerman missed two three-point shots at the end.
Alivia Hackworth led the Lady Cats with 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Rachel Looney followed with 11 points and pulled down 15 boards. Vanessa Oliver netted eight points, and Chelsea Treadway added seven. Lacy Cobble notched four points, and Chelsey Linebaugh tossed in two. Jordan Rorex recored five steals.
The Walnut Ridge junior Lady Bobcats defeated Twin Rivers 43-22 Friday night at Ravenden Springs.
Ashley Baker led Walnut Ridge with 16 points. Katie Lewis added eight points, and Megan Osbahr had seven. Amanda Emison notched six points, while Daniel Vaughn netted four points and Ashley Roacho added two.
