Zebras split games with Hillcrest
Black Rock took a 17-13 first-quarter lead over Hillcrest and continued to hold a 28-23 halftime lead.
Hillcrest bounced back in the second half and eased into a 43-40 lead as the third quarter ended. The battle continued in the fourth quarter, with Hillcrest earning a 55-50 victory over the Zebras.
Derek Wooten led the Eagles with 15 points. Ricardo Rodriquez, Jacob Clifton, Aaron Britton and Dustin Durham had eight points each. Chris Blevins notched four points, while Patrick Corder and Robert Jones recorded two points each.
Les Foster led the Zebras with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Ben Walker followed with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Adam Whitmire notched nine points and three boards. Chris Richardson chipped in with seven points, five rebounds and three assists. Jay Nunally added six points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Jonathan Rice closed with two points, five boards, five assists and four steals, and Cager Ridge had a free throw and two rebounds. continued ...
