Grandparents' Corner Cassidy Clayton, six, Samantha Berry, 16, and Joseph Clayton, four, of Jonesboro are the grandchildren of Phil and Phyllis Simmons of Black Rock, Sandra Clayton of Black Rock and Jerry and Julie Clayton of Lebanon, Mo. Great-grandparents are Wilodean Schlueter of Walnut Ridge, Glen and Irene Vance of Walnut Ridge and Mary Anna Davis of Imboden. They are the children of Van and Terry Clayton of Jonesboro. Samantha is the daughter of Clint and Janna Berry of Walnut Ridge, as well. Samantha is also the granddaughter of Phyllis Booth of Fayetteville and Robin Berry of Walnut Ridge and the step-granddaughter of Darrell and Ruthann Kelley of Walnut Ridge.

New website is asset for county

As a first-year board member of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce I learned quickly that there is plenty to be done if you are willing to take on a project and run with it.

I was named chair of the marketing committee and as such was asked to oversee the updating of the Chamber's website. Last Tuesday night, the new site was unveiled during the Chamber's annual banquet.

I can't believe that another year has almost come and gone. It just seems like a couple of months ago that I was getting ready for Christmas 2007, and now here we are again.

We put up our Christmas tree last week. Like a lot of people, I like to have mine up as soon as possible after Thanksgiving. My recent trip to Branson really got me in the holiday spirit, and I was ready to trim the tree as soon as we returned. continued...
