Hounds sweep Maynard

The Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds traveled to Maynard on Nov. 19 and swept three games from the Tigers.
Senior girls
Maynard slipped out to a 14-13 first-quarter lead over the Lady Hounds. The game continued to be close, as Sloan-Hendrix trailed by only three at halftime, 30-27.
The Lady Hounds gained momentum in the third period and trailed 36-35 heading into the final quarter. The Lady Greyhounds overtook the Lady Tigers in the fourth quarter and recorded a hard-fought 53-42 win on the road.
Katelyn Morris led Sloan-Hendrix with 16 points, eight rebounds and an assist. Amanda Green added 12 points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal. Megan Break recorded six points and six rebounds, and Christie
Caldwell had six points, two rebounds and an assist.
Hannah Rowsey had five points, four rebounds and a steal. Kara Morris recorded two points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Latricia Mans had two points, five rebounds and a steal. Kandice Henson had two points, three rebounds and a steal, and Amy Green had two points and two rebounds.
Junior girls
The game was tied 6-6 after one quarter, before Sloan-Hendrix moved out to a 13-8 lead at halftime.
Sloan-Hendrix increased its lead to 26-12 after three periods and held on for a 35-24 win.
Gennifer Simpson led the junior Lady Hounds with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists and four steals. Kayla Griffin contributed seven points, 13 boards, an assist and a steal. Madicyn Huddleston added six points, seven rebounds and a steal.
Haley Slusser tossed in three points, and had a rebound, an assist and two steals. Morgan Smith closed with two points and a rebound, and Maegan Austin recorded a free throw, six rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Senior boys
Sloan-Hendrix defeated Maynard 52-47 in the senior boys game.
Royce Pace scored 19 points to lead the Greyhounds. Chad Orrick scored 11, and Stanley Archer added 10.
