Eagles split games
with Rural Special
The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles traveled to Fox on Nov. 13 to take on Rural Special in boys high school basketball.
Rural Special defeated Hillcrest 65-49 in senior high action.
Derek Wooten led the Eagles with 19 points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Aaron Britton added nine points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Jordan Hunter had seven points, three rebounds and a steal.
Patrick Corder contributed six points and seven boards, and Ricardo Rodriquez had four points and two rebounds. Dustin Durham recorded two points, two assists and a steal. Chris Blevins added two points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Clifton pulled down two rebounds.
In the junior high game, Hillcrest grabbed a 16-11 lead to close the first quarter. With the second quarter coming to a close, the Screamin' Eagles held a 32-22 lead.
Rural Special was unable to slow the Eagles, as Hillcrest led 46-28 going into the final quarter. Hillcrest was able to hold off a Rural Special rally in the fourth quarter to record a 53-50 win.
Dylan Wooten led the Eagles with 33 points, three assists and three steals. Zach Doyle added six points, two assists and a steal. Zach Bilbrey closed with six points, a rebound, an assist and a steal.
Trevor Morgan contributed five points, three rebounds, an assist and two steals. Tyler Parker recorded three points, two rebounds an assist and two blocks, and Billy Brannon notched two rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Hillcrest traveled to Mammoth Spring on Thursday night and fell to the Bears 69-61 in senior high action.
Hunter led the Eagles with 16 points.
Mammoth Spring also defeated the Eagles in junior high boys action 31-29.
