Mustangs advance in state
Hoxie will take to the road for its third-round game against the 11-1 Glen Rose Beavers. Glen Rose, located at Malvern, walloped Cedarville 63-22 in the first round, and last week defeated previously unbeaten Marshall 28-0.
Against Gurdon, Hoxie quarterback Houston Hancock connected with Adam Madden on an 81-yard touchdown pass for the Mustangs' first score. Brad Cook added the extra point for a 7-0 Mustang lead. Hancock later scored on a quarterback sneak from a yard out. Cook's PAT put Hoxie ahead 14-0 heading into the second period.
Cats split games with QuitmanWalnut Ridge traveled to Quitman Friday for boys high school basketball action.
Hoxie girls sweep BrooklandThe Hoxie Lady Mustangs hosted Brookland in girls basketball action on Nov. 13. The Lady Mustangs kept the home fans happy by sweeping three contests from the Lady Bearcats.
Lady Hounds defeat WCCThe Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds traveled to Judsonia Friday night to face the White County Central Lady Bears in high school basketball action.
Eagles split games
The Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles traveled to Fox on Nov. 13 to take on Rural Special in boys high school basketball.
