Ron and Betty Thomas assemble Thanksgiving food boxes for underprivileged people Monday morning at First United Methodist Church. The 25 food baskets include items to prepare a complete dinner and were a project of the United Methodist Men. The food boxes were purchased through donations from the congregation and local businesses, including $20 gift cards from Wal-Mart, Harps and Hays. Rev. Everett Isom, church pastor, said the names for the food baskets were provided by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Lawrence County Ministerial Alliance.
