Lady Hounds beat MaynardDebbie Richey
Sloan-Hendrix's Lady Greyhounds used a strong second half to defeat Maynard 47-46 in girls high school basketball on Oct. 30 at Imboden.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a 12Ð6 lead at the end of the first quarter. Maynard continued to dominate the first half and led 27-16 over the Lady Greyhounds at halftime.
Sloan-Hendrix owned the court in the second half. The Lady Hounds outscored Maynard 18-7 in the third period to tie the game at 34-34 entering the fourth quarter. Kristin Belcher scored 12 of her 17 points in the third quarter to lead the comeback.
The game turned cold for the Lady Hounds for the first few minutes of the final quarter, but they gained momentum and came away with the win.
Belcher led the Hounds with 17 points and 11 boards. Amanda Green added six points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals. Amy Green also had six points, five rebounds and an assist. Hannah Rowsey closed with five points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Latricia Mans contributed four points and three rebounds. Megan Break tossed in four points and had seven boards, two assists and a steal. Kara Morris recorded three points and a rebound. Christie Caldwell notched two points, three rebounds and an assist, and Kandice Henson had a rebound.
