BR suffers close
loss in girls action

The Black Rock Lady Zebras basketball team traveled to Williford to face the Twin Rivers Lady Panthers on Oct. 23.

Black Rock led 16-11 at the end of the first quarter and increased their lead to 37-28 at halftime.

Black Rock continued to hold a 45-38 lead entering the fourth quarter, but the Lady Panthers hammered the boards in the final period and took a 59-57 victory over the Lady Zebras.

For Black Rock, Jordan Fore had 15 points, and Whitney Martin had 14. Stephanie Bagwell added 13 points, and Brittany Anderson closed with nine points.

Twin Rivers won the junior high game 29-21.


The Black Rock junior high girls lost a hard-fought contest to Brookland 31-30 on Friday at Brookland.
