Hillcrest girls fall at MelbourneDebbie RicheyStaff Writer The Hillcrest girls traveled to Melbourne to take on the Lady Bearkats on Oct. 23. Hillcrest grabbed a 14-8 first-quarter lead, but Melbourne eased into a one-point lead, 28-27, at halftime. Melbourne increased their lead in the third quarter to 49-35. The Lady Eagles were unable to overcome the Lady Bearkats, taking a 63-51 road loss. Breanna Doyle led Hillcrest with 16 points, three steals, three boards and a block. Jessica Broadway followed with 13 points, nine rebounds, an assist and two steals. Tamara Evans recorded six points and a steal, and Terra Polston notched five points and a steal. Lauren Pickle closed with four points. Natalie Johnson had four points, two assists and three rebounds, and Whitney Jones added three points and three rebounds. |
